The Lily Projects
Summer 2017 / Research, Brand Strategy, Business Model, Brand Identity, Visual Design, Social Media Strategy, Website Design
Creating a brand for a nonprofit society seeking to inspire hope for sexual assault survivors and ignite action for change across BC. Lily Projects is differentiated by the integration of justice and creativity.
WHAT
Lawyer and artist Kisa Macdonald knows survivors fall through the cracks of the legal system. There was an opportunity to create a brand that offers accessible legal resources and creatively-driven awareness campaigns to prevent the system from failing more people. Created collaboratively, these legal and creative projects will be housed on a scalable web platform.
HOW
Informed by research and interviews with survivors, Railyard 2017 developed a brand strategy that recognizes sexual assault can happen to anyone. Justice, hope, and survivors like Lily, the organisation's namesake, are at the heart of the brand.
IMPACT
Guidelines for a bold brand identity inspired by the elegance of a calla lily. Logo uses positive, upward movement to represent growth, courage, and resilience. A Lily Projects-branded investor deck was created for initial funding presentations. Website mockups and a site map were prepared to aid The Lily Projects web developer.
