Taku Resort & Marina
Summer 2015 / Brand Strategy, Brand Identity, Visual Design, Experience Design, Research, Website Design, Website Development, Videography
Taku is a resort and marina tucked away in Heriot Bay on Quadra Island that offers a tranquil, relaxing vacation spot for families and individuals with its many amenities, breath-taking property and access to nature. The Wong family is a longtime connection of Ronna Chisholm. Milton Wong inspired the inception of Railyard.
WHAT
To redefine Taku’s resort experience by developing an all-encompassing brand offering that is streamlined visually and strategically aligned with their target audiences.
HOW
After an initial immersion at the resort itself, the internal and external opportunities for Taku were explored leading into the development of a more aligned brand strategy that resonates with their consumer tribe. From there the brand identity, touchpoints and website was designed that emphasizes the beauty, simplicity and family aspects of the resort. An in-depth business analysis (including consumer journey mapping, value proposition, business model design) of both the resort and cookery was conducted to present a series of recommendations for programming and resort experience that is streamlined across all aspects of the resort.
IMPACT
A well-rounded brand offering that encompasses all aspects of the resort from visualizing to experiencing and allows Taku to be re-positioned as a resort on Quadra Island that is family-friendly in the summer with recommendations extended to off-season.
